Snoopy was swept away in flight!
His ears started flapping
and went on rotating.
He left his typewriter outside...
We stayed up till about midnight last night and it was howling outside! We heard all kinds of sounds and saw our poor botak trees trying hard not to bend over. Got up this morning and realised that the electricity's cut somehow but since our neighbours had theirs on, we figure we'd be getting ours back soon.
Armed with our LED torches, we got our battery operated radio and just listened out for any major disruptions... dressed up and headed off to work. Around the house we just saw alot of broken branches but thank go4d all our trees were ok. Hassi's safe in the garage and the cows somehow stayed in the valley although they had a shack on higher grounds. Animal instincts. On the way to work we saw heaps of branches and some fallen trees. I think the firefighters were working through the night to clear the roads up so that the morning traffic'd be smooth. All the radio stations were thanking and dedicating songs to them.
Sadly, we heard of a few more deaths from the News. Wind speeds around us were going at 120-150km/h and just alittle north of us up to 210km/h. It's still raining heavily but the winds are supposed to go down to 80km/h. Everyone around us' ok at least, just the poor óld couple across the street where I work has an uprooted tree (2 stories high) that fell on a part of their house.
Thanks to all who were concerned :)
