Hmm, the photo's not good but the poor guy just spent the last few hours rolled up into a ball cos he was rudely waken up from his ritual winter hybernation by Hans when he was clearing the wood storage. We gave it some hay and some food and made a house from a carton box and hopefully the little guy will still be there tomorrow. Didn't wanna scare him by pushing a camera in his face. Hedgehogs are called "Igel" in German, so I think I'll name him Iggy (HOW predictable...). He's quite big actually and below's a clearer picture of how he's really like.
The sad thing about these guys is that they're the most common road kill here... cos they roll up when they sense danger... which pretty much works when danger comes in the form of predators... but pretty much useless when it's a high speed 4wheeler. They're really adorable, except for the fact that they feast on really ickky stuff(insects etc) ... perhaps should call him Ickky!
